On Sunday 9th June the SMART Prebend Centre held their first annual family scavenger hunt to raise awareness and funds for the homeless day centre. Hundreds completed the hunt at Russell Park and a jolly good time was had by all who came along!
Volunteers’ Week takes place 1-7 June every year and is an opportunity to celebrate volunteering in all its diversity. During 2018 SMART were lucky to have 42 regular volunteers and over 100 one-off volunteers donating their time and energy to the charity. Our Service Manager from SMART’s residential drug and alcohol detoxification service explains how important volunteering is to the project and we hear from two volunteers who are committed to helping residents at SMART Howard House.
The Unicorn Club of Twyford donate £1,200 to SMART Wokingham to help make improvements to the service. The club was founded 40 years ago, by a number of professionals who, as friends, wanted to form an organisation offering something different to other groups. The focus, then and now, is primarily fellowship, with occasional fundraising activities supporting local charities.

We’ve been blown away by the support we have received leading up to the event and are sincerely grateful to everyone who has shared, liked and commented on social media. Thanks to Bedford locals who have displayed posters, handed out flyers and generally been awesome!
