Amber warning – Extreme heat

โš ๏ธ Temperatures are expected to rise again this week, reaching around 38ยฐC on Tuesday and Wednesday. High humidity is also expected, which means this heatwave is likely to feel more intense and uncomfortable than the last one.

Warm overnight temperatures, especially in urban areas, may also make it harder for people to cool down and recover.

Hot weather can be dangerous, particularly for people sleeping rough, those without safe housing, older people, people with health conditions, and anyone who may not have easy access to water, shade or somewhere cool.

Please take care of yourself and look out for others. Drink plenty of water, avoid being in direct sun where possible, and check in on anyone who may be at risk.

The Prebend Centre is here for people who need us. We will be providing fresh water and a place to sit in the shade during our opening hours.

If you are concerned about someone sleeping rough, please contact StreetLink: https://thestreetlink.org.uk/

๐Ÿ”ด Call 999 if you or someone else may have signs of heatstroke, including:
