Bedford Castle Rotary Club show their support!

Bedford Castle Rotary Club have been showing their continued commitment to the SMART Prebend Centre by promoting and donating to the Christmas Relief In Bedford (CRIB) appeal.

Jen Robus, Manager of the SMART Prebend Centre said “Members from the club help us out in so many ways throughout the year and we are eternally grateful for all they do for us.”

It’s important to remember that although the CRIB appeal has Christmas in the title, this is a campaign to raise funds to support the centre throughout the winter months, which go beyond December. Through kind donations from organisations and individuals like the Bedford Castle Rotary Club we CRIB has currently raised just over £30,000. We are continuing to receive donations from churches and local groups who have been collecting money throughout December.

Anita McCallum, SMART’s CEO said “I’ve been very impressed with the Club and how they help the SMART Prebend Centre. Heartfelt thanks to you all.”

The CRIB appeal runs until the end of Feburary, so there is still plenty of time to give some pennies to help the homeless in Bedford.

WE STILL NEED TO RAISE £20,000 TO REACH OUR OVERALL TARGET AND £3,000 TO BREAK OUR ONLINE GOAL SO PLEASE DONATE TO CRIB.

About the SMART Prebend Centre

The Prebend Centre is open 365 days of the year offering homeless adults a safe space to access the basics that we all take for granted, such as hot meals, phones, internet, medical advice and showers. SMART workers assist users of the service to make plans to tackle their current problems by working alongside professional partners and other charitable services. Read more…
