Bedford Estate Agent Sponsor the SMART Prebend Centre Ball!

We are thrilled to announce, My Estate, a property lettings and sale agent in Bedford and Luton as the major sponsors of the SMART Prebend Centre Masquerade ball on Saturday 14th September.

My Estate’s generous donation will fully cover the costs associated with hosting the event, meaning absolutely every penny from ticket sales and activities on the night will go toward keeping the centre open.

Mumin Muqtadir, Branch Director at My Estate Bedford commented “I am delighted to be supporting such a good cause. I have seen the difference the Prebend Centre makes in Bedford, so we seized the  opportunity to help by sponsoring this fantastic event and the work of the Prebend Centre.”

About the Ball

The Masquerade Ball will take place at the Sharnbrook Hotel on Saturday 14th September. Guests will be treated to drinks, canapes and 3-course dining, a raffle,  impressive auction lots, and entertainment throughout the night. The Prebend team will be welcoming those in attendance to take part in a symbolic ceremony to mark every person helped by the centre during 2019.

In 2018 the Prebend Ball raised £10,000. In 2019, we’re aiming to double that! We need to raise £20,000 to help cover the centre running costs and repairs.

About the centre

The SMART Prebend Centre is a much-used day centre for the homeless operating 365 days a year in Bedford. We support those who sleep rough, are vulnerably housed and often face additional issues such as social isolation and exclusion. The centre is a place of safety, meeting the basic needs of service users; providing food, warmth, water, a place to get clean and rest.

It costs £250,000 per year to keep the centre open, funded entirely through charitable donations and grants and the support of the local community. This year, the centre is also facing significant additional costs associated with an old building in need of urgent repairs.

Show your support

Ticket sales to the ball have now closed, but you can still make a donation to the Protect SMART Prebend Centre Fund and contribute towards emergency repairs required at the centre.

Sincere thanks

We would like to offer our deepest gratitude to Mumin and the team at My Estate for helping us to stage the second annual Prebend Ball. The support from local businesses not only allows us to continue providing this essential service, but also shows the vulnerable homeless population of Bedford that they are valued and cared for. Your contribution has made a huge difference!
