Calling all Bedford volunteers

Do you live in Bedford? Are you able to spare a few hours a week?

We are looking for volunteers with basic IT and administration skills to help us with our fundraising activities and campaigns for the SMART Prebend Centre. Advanced IT and admin skills will be beneficial.

If you think you are able to help then we would love to hear from you.

Please email prebend@smartcjs.org.uk or call 07399 416 147 and speak to Lisa.

We work hard to make sure our volunteers learn new skills and get the support they need. We offer a range of advice, support and training to all our volunteers. You are a vital part of the team.

Hours are varied and can be flexible dependent on the position and location. If you think you may be able to help, it’s best to get in touch. Please check the locations of each of our buildings as most volunteering positions are for roles that require you to travel and work from within the service itself. Your travel will be reimbursed.

We hope to hear from you soon!

About the SMART Prebend Centre

The SMART Prebend Centre, located in Bedford, provides support to people who are: homeless, rough sleeping, vulnerably housed and those who are socially isolated. The Centre, open 365 days a year, offers a safe space so those in need can access hot cooked meals, clean clothes, toiletries and cleaning facilities.

Alongside providing somewhere secure for vulnerable people to tend to their basic needs, SMART Centre workers offer one-to-one support and guidance, helping those using the Centre to improve their network of support, build life skills and begin to make positive changes for themselves. By working closely with local public services and partner agencies the SMART team strive to help those who are homeless or rough sleeping to find suitable accommodation and to reintegrate into society.
