Dry January

Dry January is Alcohol Concern’s flagship campaign which has been changing the conversation about alcohol over the past 5 years.

Taking part in the campaign is a chance to ditch the hangover, reduce the waistline, and save some serious £££ by giving up alcohol for 31 days.

In the words of Professor Kevin Moore:

If someone had a health product that did all that in one month, they would be raking it in.”

If you are looking to reduce your alcohol intake it’s good to do it with support. You can find lots of tools and information within our website and if you feel that you need a little extra support, feel free to use SMART chat, our online talk service, where you can talk to a professional in confidence. Available from 6pm-11pm daily.

If you feel you have a problem with alcohol or that you can’t stop drinking, then it’s essential that you get help. DO NOT suddenly stop drinking if you feel that you are dependent on alcohol. You must access support through a service like ours or your GP. Contact us if you need support with this.

There are lots of great resources for additional support… We recommend starting with Age Concern or searching the Twitter handle #dryjanuary.

Good luck if you are attempting a Dry January and be sure to check out this newsfeed at the end of the month to see what our services have been doing for it!
