Emergency shelter

Each individual in our emergency accommodation is provided with a safe space to sleep, store their belongings and spend their time. SMART are on site for support, advice and to make referrals for broader support services where necessary. Our support workers give guidance and help to enable residents to access the welfare & benefits system where possible, including setting up bank accounts.

All residents are given rapid access to our partner dual diagnosis team (P2R, Pathway to Recovery) for addiction and mental health support, to the De Parys medical group for GP access, and move on housing options via Bedford
Borough Council’s on site support.

The provision currently houses 30 people with a wide variety of backgrounds, needs and experiences. SMART provides individually tailored support which will be guided by each person and their aims.
