Injuries, aches, pains and emotions for SMART!
In July 2019 Shashi, Rommana and Tay walked 96 miles along the West Highland way, from Milngavie to Fort William in Scotland to raise funds for three homelessness charities in Bedford including the SMART Prebend Centre.
The trio are avid supporters of local charities and have previously helped to raise money and much needed donations for the SMART Prebend Centre, as well as other worthy causes. They said “These charities are reliant on funds, donations and kindness from all of us, so please help us to help them. All the money we raise will be equally divided between these three charities so they can continue to support, protect and guide those that need it the most.”
During the walk the team gave updates via their online giving page including: “There have been knee injuries, aches, pains and lots of emotions through some difficult terrain. But it’s also very enjoyable and the scenery is breath-taking. The solidarity has been amazing.”
An impressive £543.00 was raised as a result of the walk for the SMART Prebend Centre!
Shashi told us: “During the toughest moments of the walk, our continued motivation was always for those less fortunate than ourselves whom would benefit from the money raised.”
Our warmest thanks go to everyone who supported and donated, and of course, Shasha, Tay and Rommana, who are pictured below, visiting the centre and officially marking their donation – YOU ARE ALL HEROES!
