Ministry of Housing visit Somewhere Safe to Stay

On 11th December 2019 the team at Somewhere Safe to Stay in Bedford welcomed Ministry of Housing, Communities & Local Government (MHCLG) Deputy Director, Catherine Bennion and Ben Wright, Policy Advisory, Rough Sleeper Delivery.

Accompanied by Tabitha Resta (Bedford Borough Council) and Lisa Harrison (SMART), Catherine and Ben took a tour of the project, during which time they met SMART workers, Council Housing Navigators and Council Letting Agents to learn how the team help the Homeless of Bedford into accommodation.

The Hub, opened in November, is a part of the homelessness provision in Bedford and is funded by the MHCLG for 12 months, as part of the Rapid Rehousing Pathways scheme. Find out more.
