SMART CJS IMPACT REPORT 2021: Surviving and Thriving

A message from Anita McCallum – SMART CJS Chief Executive Officer…

I am delighted to share with you SMART’s most recent Impact Report, a reflection on our many achievements throughout 2021.

Against the odds, the organisation survived and thrived last year. There is no doubt that the pandemic continued to adversely affect staffing and volunteer involvement. Despite this, our services remained uninterrupted and we even managed to introduce some new projects! Our teams worked extremely hard, taking on extra shifts and working across multiple locations to keep services running 24/7, when up to a third of staff were absent.

So, this report is to recognise and give thanks to the incredible people who support our charity; each volunteer, every member of staff, our kind donors, the fabulous fundraisers, our funders, and those of you that follow us on social media and help to guide vulnerable people into our services.

My deepest thanks and gratitude to the often unseen heroes, without whom we would be unable to fund and deliver our services, to Commissioners from local authorities, grant givers and our supportive partners, we thank you for all that you do.

Heartfelt thanks to everyone who has played a part in helping hundreds of people get the support they need during 2021 – congratulations to you all, I am incredibly proud of our achievements.
