AMAZING NEWS… Cold Relief In Bedford (CRIB) Appeal hits Target!

We are delighted to announce the CRIB Appeal has raised over £60,000 for the SMART Prebend Centre in Bedford, thanks to an outstanding response from the local community.

About CRIB

Each year the Prebend Centre calls upon local residents and businesses to help keep the homeless service open during the cold winter months. This years appeal has been particularly significant, due to unforeseen emergency repairs to the centre building towards the end of 2019.

This years appeal received a record number of donations from Church groups, Rotary Clubs, businesses, fundraising teams and individuals. SMART CJS CEO, Anita McCallum comments:

“It costs over £250,000 each year to run the centre and we are reliant on the good will of our supporters to stay open. Every donation, fundraiser, poster, leaflet and share on social media has helped to exceed the ambitious target of £60k; a sum which has gone some way to cover the unexpected building works. It’s been humbling to watch the community come together and we’ve seen some heartwarming acts of human kindness. My sincere thanks to everyone who has supported the appeal and to those who support the centre all year round”.
