The Rotary Club of Bedford Castle raise £2600 for the SMART Prebend Centre!

We are VERY grateful to Bedford Castle Rotary Club who organised a fantastic auction for the first SMART Prebend Centre dinner dance on 2nd November 2018.

The auction was masterfully conducted by David Fletcher, an expert on BBC TV’s popular antiques show, ‘FlogIt!’ and a volunteer at the SMART Prebend Day Centre.

Auction lots consisted of:

  • A week for 4 in a villa in traditional Greek villa in Paxos. Kindly donated by Mrs Hilary Guest.
  • A box of fine wines. Kindly donated by Christopher Burr.
  • A Ford Mustang for a day. Kindly donated by RGR Garages, Cranfield.
  • A family ticket to watch England v. Croatia at Wembley. Kindly donated by Clear Brew, Bedford.
  • A family ticket to an MK Dons match. Donated by Decisive IT in Milton Keynes.
  • A fashion make-over! Kindly donated by Sarah Crowle of Nichols Anthony in Bedford.

“David said after the sale “I was delighted with the varied range of lots that had been so kindly donated by supporters of SMART and Bedford Castle Rotary Club, and was thrilled that guests bid so enthusiastically. I feel proud to have helped ad £2600 to the total sum raised on the evening.”

James Whitcomb, Business Development Manager for SMART said “We are extremely thankful to the Rotary Club of Bedford Castle for sourcing four of the six auction lots on the night, and to David for arranging and hosting such a fabulous auction. We’d also like to offer our sincere thanks to the businesses and individuals who supplied the auction lots and to everyone who bid for them.”
